TALO Training & Consulting (TTC)
According to the "father of modern management" Dr. Peter Drucker, “The purpose of business is to create and keep a customer.” Drucker suggested that most businesses and economists incorrectly believe that the first purpose of a business is to make a profit. If and when the customer base grows, so will the profits also. And if the best cultural proficiency infrastructure is in place, we believe, the profits via TALO incentives will also be there as a business validation.
Completing TALO Leadership Theory training and receiving TALO consulting are two of the highest forms of professional certification and validation offered in the field of cultural proficiency training to date.
Our group assists clients in positively maximizing ethnic identification in organizations, minimizing racism, and implementing ethnic equality planning and action by providing conceptual and methodological tools and skill sets. For example, if low worker morale or productivity based on real and/or perceived racism and discrimination are factors and improved cultural proficiency is required (and insiders are reluctant to discuss these, uncertain how or ill-prepared to address these), we can handle this. Ownership of and responsibility for planning, action and outcomes, however, lie with the clients and not with TALO Training & Consulting.

In addition to Dr. Keith Orlando Hilton, pairs of facilitators are being trained to positively conduct and facilitate TALO Leadership training & consulting in a number of diverse environments throughout the country and world.
We help our clients understand what they’re trying to address in the marketplace, and in particular, with ALANA communities. ALANA stands for African, Latino, Asian and Native American. Our primary clients are non-profits, small & medium sized for-profits, Fortune 1000 corporations, Black Enterprise 100 corporations, higher education (e.g. HBCUs/HACUs and other publics and privates), K-12, grassroots/deep roots organizations, professional associations, and international bodies in the Caribbean and Africa. Webster’s Dictionary cites “consultation” as being “the act of seeking advice.” Consultation is typically multi-dimensional, often with multiple concurrent clients and inter-related factors. Consultants can be change agents, facilitators, collaborators or experts in the working relationship with clients. A consultant's work focus includes people, processes and/or organizational structures. TALO Training & Consulting focuses on cultural and ethnic acceptance & leadership building, which is a level beyond most current diversity training.
TALO Training & Consulting believes that having a sound theoretical package and methodology help define and explain an organization’s mission and effectiveness, because theories help explain the way the world works, and are testable. A theory also gives organizations a clear advantage over competitors. Utilizing the TALO Leadership Theory, we are transdisciplinary; focusing on the integration of culture, communications, communities and corporations. We also professionally adhere to the principles of consultation, confrontation, conflict, openness, accountability and consensus. Click here for costs.
We think our clients will have to stay focused on and answer the basic strategic questions: What do I do better than anybody else in the world? How do I make sure I have the discipline to stay focused on that? What are my theoretical underpinnings? If they do that, then we think a methodology starts to unfold.
We also administer and assist with interpreting:
The TALO Leadership Assessment Tool (and assist with interpreting the TALO Leadership Profile Quiz)
Both are simple but powerful instruments that enable clients to identify their cultural and leadership profiles, identify gaps between themselves and others and learn techniques to address resulting challenges and opportunities.
Clients will:
Ø learn the fundamentals of ethnic identification, which is active in all organizations;
Ø identify and explore their own leadership and ethnic profiles and those of other participants;
Ø learn about cultural profiles of different organizations based on research;
Ø explore the challenges and solutions to addressing cultural and ethnic differences.
